NEW ALAMEIN, June 25 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Wednesday that starting Friday, gas pumping will resume to several factories that were shut down in recent days due to a shortage of gas supplies.

The premier made the remarks while chairing the weekly cabinet meeting at the cabinet headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss and follow up on a number of files.

He reiterated the state's commitment to providing all requirements needed for the production process in a bid to sustain the cycle of production and drive it forward to achieve greater economic and social goals.

Madbouli also congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the new Hijri Year.

Meanwhile, Madbouli reiterated the Egyptian state's welcome of the announced ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

He referred to recent calls made by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi with several foreign leaders in which he reiterated Egypt's categorical rejection of any action that infringes on the sovereignty of other states, especially fellow Arab and Muslim nations.

Sisi stressed that Egypt would keep working with all relevant international parties to solidify the truce and push for a comprehensive political solution in order to ease regional tensions and prevent the Middle East from sliding into widespread violence and chaos.

During the meeting, the prime minister reviewed the field visits he conducted this week, which included inspecting infrastructure preparations for importing natural gas in the Sokhna area to receive refueling ships.

This will contribute to enhancing the capacity of the national natural gas network and meeting various consumer and production requirements, he said.

He also referred to his inspection of a Sixth of October city factory, the first in Egypt and the Middle East that specializes in manufacturing ultrasound and MRI devices. (MENA)
