Foreign Minister Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s firm stance on key regional crises, particularly the situation in Palestine, as well as efforts aimed at maintaining regional peace, sovereignty and stability.

The Egyptian top diplomat strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and the systematic violations against the Palestinian people, including efforts to forcibly displace them from their homeland, in a blatant violation of international law and legitimacy.

He urged the OIC member states to confront these attempts that aim to liquidate the Palestinian issue and to remain united in rejecting such violations.

“The Palestinian cause remains central to Egypt’s foreign policy,” said Abdelatty, reaffirming Egypt’s historic role in defending Arab and Muslim rights.

He highlighted Egypt’s active diplomacy, in coordination with Qatar, to achieve a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, deliver humanitarian aid, and end the humanitarian catastrophe affecting over two million Palestinians.

Abdelatty praised the official and popular international support for the Palestinian rights as well as rejection of the Israeli siege policies.

He also praised the OIC member states support for the Arab reconstruction plan for Gaza.

As for the conflict in Sudan, Abdelatty affirmed that Egypt supports restoring stability and respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan, advocating for a Sudanese-led political process free from foreign interference.

Concerning Syria, he emphasized that Egypt stands with the Syrian people and supports a political transition inclusive of all sects.

Abdelatty underscored Egypt's condemnation of Israeli violations of Syrian and Lebanese sovereignty, calling for Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon, the Golan Heights, and the remaining occupied Syrian territories, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

As regards Libya, Abdelatty underlined that Egypt remains committed to facilitating a comprehensive political reconciliation, ensuring the departure of foreign forces and militias, and holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections to preserve Libya’s unity and stability.

Regarding Yemen, the Egyptian foreign minister emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive political solution to end the long-standing humanitarian crisis there and to preserve Yemen’s unity and legitimate institutions.
