CAIRO, June 2 (MENA) - All sectors of the Interior Ministry and security directorates nationwide have been placed on high alert to secure celebrations of Eidul Adha (the Greater Bairam), in line with directives of Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik, a well-placed security source said on Monday.

The security source, in exclusive statements to MENA, stated that the security plan for Eid celebrations has been finalized.

The plan aims to maintain security and order, combat all forms of crime and provide a safe environment for people to enjoy the festive atmosphere of Eidul Adha, the source added.

The security plan entails intensifying security deployments in main streets and squares, highways, public parks, entertainment venues, cinemas and Nile marinas that are considered popular destinations for people during festivities, the source said.

The source added that fixed and mobile security patrols will be deployed, along with checkpoints installed.

Female police officers will be deployed in central Greater Cairo squares, alongside rapid intervention forces on all major routes, according to the security source.

The security plan gives due attention to intensifying market monitoring to apprehend price manipulators, combat commercial fraud, verify the validity of goods and tighten control over markets while supervising commodity circulation during Eid holiday, the source said. (MENA)
