CAIRO, May 25 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated beyond any previous level.
These remarks came during the minister's participation in the Madrid Group ministerial meeting on Sunday, which addressed efforts to end the war in Gaza, allow aid access, and build international support for recognizing Palestine.
Abdelatty welcomed recent shifts in global positions toward Palestinian rights and stressed the importance of maintaining pressure for a two-state solution.
He referred to the upcoming June 18 conference in New York, co-organized by France and Saudi Arabia, calling for actionable outcomes, including international recognition of a Palestinian state.
He also rejected any proposals to displace Palestinians from Gaza and warned of escalating violence in the West Bank due to ongoing Israeli military operations.
Additionally, the minister called for ending the occupation and restarting a serious political process that leads to establishing a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders in line with international resolutions. (MENA)
