CAIRO, May 25 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty lauded Norway's stance on supporting the Palestinian people's legitimate rights.
Abdelatty made the comments during his meeting on Sunday with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, on the sidelines of the Madrid Group ministerial meeting on the Palestinian cause.
The top Egyptian diplomat praised Norway's joining of the statement of international donors on the situation in Gaza, which is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
Abdelatty called for more recognitions of the state of Palestine to push forward the two-state solution, commending Norway's position on rejecting any suggestions for the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
The Egyptian foreign minister voiced appreciation of the Scandinavian country's backing of the Egypt-crafted Arab-Islamic plan for the early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza, which ensures Palestinians stay on their land.
Abdelatty highlighted the situation in the West Bank, as he reviewed flagrant violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces in its cities and villages, stressing the need to stop these practices against Palestinian population. (MENA)
