Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf affirmed that the Arab world is facing unprecedented and growing challenges in its contemporary history.
In his speech, during the opening session of the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad, Attaf said that the Palestinian cause is facing liquidation plans, with Israel's occupation insisting on imposing its futile vision of peace to satisfy its ambitions. This peace is built on the ruins of the Palestinian cause, while neighboring countries are deprived of the basic elements of their security and stability.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al Shibani said that lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria is an important step towards national recovery and reconstruction, reflecting sincere Arab diplomatic efforts that have resulted in tangible outcomes.
He explained that Syria, both government and people, asserted its firm belief that Arab unity is not a political luxury or a tactical option, but rather a strategic necessity and a fundamental pillar in building a secure, stable and prosperous future for all our peoples.
Meanwhile, Djibouti Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdoulkader Hussein Omar strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, stressing that what is happening in Gaza is a stain on the conscience of humanity.
He affirmed the support and solidarity of Djibouti with all the issues of the Arab nation, foremost of which is Palestine. He explained that this summit represents a timely opportunity to strengthen joint Arab action through tangible actions.
For his part, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration Mohamed Ali Nafti stated that the Israeli aggression is not only a blatant violation of international resolutions but also represents a flagrant challenge to all humanitarian and ethical charters and conventions.
Nafti reiterated his country's firm position in supporting the Palestinian people in reclaiming all of their rights, liberating every inch of their land, and establishing their independent state with full sovereignty.
He emphasized Tunisia's absolute rejection of any calls for the displacement of Gaza's residents and all desperate attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause. (MORE)
