CAIRO, May 15 (MENA) - CEO of AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Alberto Calderon commended on Thursday the Egyptian government's efforts and its continued support of investors in the mining industry.
The AGA CEO made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli ahead of their inspection of the Sukari Gold Mine in the Red Sea resort city of Marsa Alam.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Chairman of the Mineral Resources Authority Geologist Yasser Ramadan and Vice Chairperson of Sukari Gold Mine Hoda Mansour.
Calderon said the AGA plans to inject further investments in the Sukari Gold Mine in the coming period.
The premier said Egypt looks forward to increasing the AGA investments in Egypt, especially in light of several reports confirming Egypt's possession of other gold reserves other than the Sukari Gold Mine.
At the end of the meeting, the prime minister issued directives for facilitating all procedures related to the company's work, including the rapid issuance of visas and residence for its foreign employees. (MENA)
