MECCA, Saudi Arabia, May 25 (MENA) - The Assistant Minister of Interior for Administrative Affairs and Chief Executive of the Egyptian Hajj Mission announced that 13,062 pilgrims of the lottery pilgrimage package have arrived in Mecca so far.
Speaking to MENA's correspondent in Mecca, he explained that 1,854 pilgrims arrived directly from Egypt and 1,848 came from Medina, in addition to 9,360 who had already arrived in the holy site.
The mission officials welcomed the arriving pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, supervised their arrival procedures, and facilitated their travel to Mecca, preparing their accommodation in hotels near the Holy Mosque.
He added that the mission’s staff conduct daily checks of the hotels before pilgrims arrive to ensure they are fully equipped for the guests.
Welcoming ceremonies were organized in the hotels, with gifts and flowers distributed, and mission members assigned to assist elderly pilgrims and those with special needs.
The mission chief stressed that all team members work around the clock to provide the necessary support to the pilgrims from departure to commence their pilgrimage journey until their safe return home. (MENA)
