CAIRO, May 19 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued directives for the swift implementation of necessary reforms in the drinking water system in the Red Sea governorate.
This aims to reduce malfunctions in water networks and stations across the governorate as well as to resume the construction of desalination plants there in a way that helps find a permanent solution to the water issue in the governorate.
Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting he chaired on Monday at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to follow up on efforts to provide drinking water for citizens in several areas of the Red Sea governorate.
He also instructed that all essential supplies for drinking water stations be provided to maintain their efficiency.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafy, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sayed Ismail, and Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater Mamdouh Raslan.
The meeting was also attended by Head of the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage (NOPWASD) Amin Shawky, Deputy Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater Assem Shokr, as well as a number of officials from relevant entities. (MENA)
