NEW DELHI, July 9 (MENA) - Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced Wednesday that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Namibia after concluding a two-day visit to Brazil to hold talks with the Namibian president on ways to deepen and expand relations between the two countries.
During his visit to Brazil, the Indian prime minister participated in the BRICS summit held in Rio de Janeiro and held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brasília.
In a statement, the ministry said Modi’s visit to Namibia comes at the invitation of Namibian President Hage Geingob Nandi–Ndaitwah, marking Modi’s first visit to Namibia. It is also the third visit by an Indian prime minister to the country.
The statement said during the visit, the Indian prime minister is also expected to address members of the Namibian parliament, adding that the visit further underscores the deep, historic and multifaceted ties between India and Namibia. (MENA)
