BRASILIA, July 6 (MENA) - The government of Brazil has launched a new public policy innovation initiative designed to enhance South–South cooperation and support the development of sustainable and healthy food systems across the Global South, according to TV BRICS.

The program is coordinated by the Brazilian National Secretariat for Food and Nutritional Security of the Ministry of Social Development and Fight Against Hunger.

The initiative aims to identify, collect and disseminate innovative public policy experiences that address common challenges faced by countries of the Global South.

It is directed at national and local governments, regional blocs and intergovernmental organisations interested in exchanging good practices, scaling up effective approaches, and building institutional capacity.

In the year 2025, the focus will be on “Climate and Sustainable Food Systems” and “Urban Food Policies”. In 2026, themes will include “Food Environments” and “Public Procurement”.

The key intention with the project is to build a public and free digital archive of innovative public policy experiences. Experts believe that this initiative will strengthen public policy and food and nutrition security by building bridges and fostering innovative solutions that promote healthy diets and sustainable development.
