CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affaires, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed in a phone call with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan the next steps for implementing the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.
This comes in light of Egypt’s intention to host a conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza once a ceasefire agreement is reached.
The two ministers praised the strong bilateral relations and the deep, historical, and fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries. They commended the rapid development witnessed in their bilateral relations.
They also expressed their aspiration to accelerate cooperation between the two countries, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to deepen and further develop ties in all fields, in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples.
On another note, the two ministers exchanged views on regional issues of mutual concern, particularly the developments in Gaza. Minister Abdelatty outlined the ongoing efforts to resume the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, amid the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the region.
He stressed the urgent need to halt the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the importance of ensuring Israel and Iran’s commitment to a ceasefire.
Minister Abdelatty emphasized the need to uphold the ceasefire between both sides and to resume the diplomatic path toward reaching a sustainable settlement on the Iranian nuclear program, in a manner that contributes to de-escalation, reduces tensions, and achieves regional security and stability.
