CAIRO, July 2 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received on Wednesday a phone call from his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani during which they reaffirmed the strong relations between Egypt and Italy.
During the talks, the two ministers discussed regional developments, especially in Gaza.
For his part, Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s coordination with Qatar and the US to reach a ceasefire and secure the release of hostages.
He also stressed the urgent need for unimpeded humanitarian, medical, and relief aid into Gaza.
The minister mentioned Egypt’s plan to host an international conference on Gaza’s early recovery and reconstruction once a ceasefire is in place.
Additionally, the top diplomat called for Israel and Iran to commit to a ceasefire and urged regional and international efforts to support de-escalation and diplomacy. (MENA)
