CAIRO, June 30 (MENA) – The Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization (EGY-NADO) has condemned recent calls for participation in the first competition of the so-called 'Enhanced Games' the US is expected to host in Las Vegas in May 2026.
“In light of recent developments and attempts to promote the so-called ‘Enhanced Games,’ EGY-NADO deems it its national duty to express its decisive position against this initiative that violates all ethical and sport principles,” the organization said in a statement on Monday.
This initiative flies in the face of ethical values of sport by promoting the use banned substances and doping, under the slogan “freedom of sports,” which has nothing to do with the principles of integrity or the health of athletes, the organization added.
It said this initiative, “not only undermines credibility in sports, but also exposes athletes to serious health risks,” warning all Egyptian athletes, as well as coaches, against participating in or promoting this type of competition that violates the World Anti-Doping Code.
The organization reaffirmed its full commitment to collaborating with national and international partners for a clean and safe sporting environment, stressing that health, integrity, and compliance cannot be compromised.
The Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and advocating for improvements in the field of doping control in Egypt, in cooperation with relevant national and international organizations and agencies and other anti-doping organizations.
Established in 2017, EGY-NADO is the only institution responsible for all anti-doping programs and activities in Egypt. (MENA)
