CAIRO, June 23 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a series of phone calls Monday with a number of his counterparts in the region on the latest developments in the region.

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan, Foreign Minister of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Minister of Kuwait Abdullah Al-Yahya, Foreign Minister of Iraq Fuad Hussein, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi were contacted.

The discussions focused on the rapidly evolving situation in the region, particularly in light of the blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.

During the calls, Abdelatty voiced Egypt’s full solidarity with the State of Qatar following the recent Iranian attacks on its territory.

He underscored Egypt’s condemnation of any infringement on Qatar’s sovereignty and security, and rejected all forms of aggression targeting the sovereignty, stability, and security of fellow Arab nations.

The conversations also addressed the implications of the attacks on Qatar and the broader threat they pose to regional security and stability, as well as the growing military escalation and its potential dangers.

The Arab foreign ministers agreed on the urgent need to de-escalate tensions, exercise restraint, and coordinate regional and international efforts to contain the crisis and restore calm in the region. (MENA)
