CAIRO, June 21 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that the government is prioritizing gas and fuel supply to meet increasing consumption across economic sectors.
These remarks came during Madbouli's visit to the National Gas Control Center (NATC) in Ain Sokhna to review Egypt’s comprehensive plan for securing gas and fuel supplies amid growing consumption.
For his part, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi described the national gas grid as essential for ensuring energy availability for industry, public services, and households.
He confirmed that the grid can handle imported LNG from regasification ships in Ain Sokhna and operate efficiently under various emergency scenarios.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Yassin Mohamed, confirmed ongoing projects to increase the grid's capacity, especially to supply power stations during peak electricity usage.
The Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO), Yasser Salah el Din, also detailed that real-time monitoring systems and emergency protocols are in place to maintain stable gas distribution across sectors.
The government plans to use three LNG regasification ships to reinforce supply and support the country’s energy demands during peak periods. (MENA)
