CAIRO, June 21 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty conducted last week a series of intensive meetings, discussions, and phone calls as part of Egypt’s coordinated diplomatic efforts across all areas of foreign policy.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration published an infographic highlighting the minister’s activities throughout the week, which began with two phone calls with the foreign ministers of Cyprus and Italy.
In line with the president’s directives to intensify diplomatic contacts aimed at halting the military escalation between Israel and Iran, Abdelatty held numerous calls throughout the week. These included calls with his counterparts from Oman and Turkey, as well as with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, the U.S. president’s special envoy for the Middle East, the senior advisor to the U.S. president on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs, and a senior advisor for Africa.
He also spoke by phone with the Palestinian prime minister and foreign minister as well as the foreign ministers of Tunisia, the Czech Republic, Russia, and Ireland (also serving as deputy prime minister and minister of defense).
In the context of Egypt’s strong ties with African nations, the minister also had a phone call with the Ugandan minister of state for foreign affairs.
Additionally, the foreign minister met with the minister of environment and held talks with the minister of higher education and scientific research.
He also conducted discussions with the prime minister of Serbia. (MENA)
