Madbouli warned that regional tensions could escalate further, possibly triggering sharp increases in global fuel prices and supply shortages. He said that Egypt is ready with clear scenarios and proactive steps to manage any fallout.
He also confirmed that Egypt has secured its energy needs through three LNG vessels, one already operational and two set to begin service by the end of June.
Madbouli stated that a crisis committee, chaired by him and including relevant ministers and state institutions, is in continuous session to monitor developments. He said Egypt holds a strategic reserve of essential commodities sufficient for six months.
The Premier also added that the government will continue to prevent unjustified price increases and has formed a special committee to stabilize markets.
Additionally, Madbouli affirmed that Egypt is moving forward with Initial Public Offering plans, including offering airport management to global operators. He noted that Egypt remains committed to fiscal discipline and stability despite regional challenges. (MENA)
