CAIRO, June 12 (MENA) - Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said Thursday that the State attaches great importance to developing youth centers and transforming them into integrated platforms that provide sports, cultural and development services.

During a visit to the Faraskour Youth Center in Damietta Governorate to assess the center's conditions and inspect a number of ongoing projects within its scope, the minister said supporting the talented youths in the sports sector is a top priority for the ministry.

All drives came within the ministry's efforts to develop infrastructure and promote youth and sports activities across the various governorates.

The tour included an inspection of one of the center's profit-seeking projects implemented by the ministry as part of its plan to develop youth centers and transform them into productive and service centers, enabling them to rely on their own resources to improve the level of services.

The minister, along with Damietta Governor Ayman el-Shehabi, also inspected the activities of the National Talent and Olympic Champion Project at the center.

The project is one of the most prominent initiatives adopted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to discover and nurture talent in a number of sports, including wrestling, boxing, gymnastics, basketball and others.

The tour concluded with honoring participants in the National Talent and Olympic Champion Project, amid praise from residents and local community members for all tangible efforts in supporting the youth and sports sector in Damietta Governorate.

The governor of Damietta commended the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in developing the infrastructure of youth and sports facilities in Damietta, stressing the governorate's full readiness to overcome any obstacles facing the implementation of the various projects. (MENA)
