CAIRO, June 3 (MENA) - Members of a high-level Indian parliamentary delegation currently on a visit to Cairo affirmed that no Indian military or paramilitary forces are participating alongside Israel in the genocide taking place in Gaza.
The delegation members made the remarks in response to audience questions during an interactive meeting organized by the Indian Embassy in Cairo on Tuesday on the sidelines of the delegation’s visit to Egypt.
The Indian delegation members emphasized that India’s position has remained consistent both before and after independence, and since the Balfour Declaration during the era of Mahatma Gandhi, whose stance was clear in support of freedom.
Changes in governments or political orientations do not alter India’s official positions, they said, reiterating that there are no Indian troops fighting alongside Israel in Gaza.
India supports the Palestinian people and their right to freedom, a decent life, and an independent sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital, they stressed.
They also noted that relevant UN resolutions have not been implemented and the Palestinian state has not been established yet. (MENA)
