President Sisi emphasized the importance of developing livestock by replacing low-producing cattle breeds.
Doing so, Egypt can provide better meat and milk production within four or five years.
Securing 2 to 3 million heads of cattle in rural areas will magnificently benefit people.
Regarding the fishery sector, President Sisi noted that Egypt has extensive coastlines and 14 lakes that constitute a significant resource not only for the state but also for those working in this vital sector.
He pointed out that about 3,500 fishermen depend on Lake Nasser for fishing, however their income remains limited due to the lack of scientific methods in developing fish wealth.
He stressed the need to stop random fishing practices in the lakes, which have led to a decline in production and thus lower fishermen’s incomes.
He called for cooperation to preserve the ecological balance of the lakes to increase production for everyone's benefit.
He expounded that the state might prohibit fishing in Lake Bardawil, Manzala, and Nasser during certain periods of the year to allow the biological environment of the lakes to grow for one or two years to maximize production.
He directed government officials and state agencies to strictly enforce regulations to improve lake environments and increase fish production. (MORE)
