Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to stop the bloodshed in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and allow the entry of humanitarian aid.
The top diplomat criticized the continued blockade, noting that no food or medical trucks had entered the Strip for nearly 70 days, calling it a disgraceful silence by the international community and a form of collective punishment.
He also rejected any plans to displace Palestinians and stressed the need to keep them on their land. He called for a ceasefire to allow preparations for the Cairo International Conference for Recovery and Reconstruction to put into effect the Arab-Islamic plan that was approved by the March 4 summit.
Additionally, Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s appreciation for Iraq’s support in preparing for the upcoming Arab League Summit in Baghdad, describing the timing as highly sensitive and the preparations as a sign of Iraq’s growing stability. (MENA)
