CAIRO, May 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli emphasized the importance of paying close attention to all aspects of the "Fustat Hills Park" project, which reflects the state’s vision of achieving integrated and sustainable urban development.

The project includes vast green spaces that will make the area one of the largest parks in the Middle East, especially that it encompasses various heritage, tourist, cultural, recreational, hospitality and commercial zones designed to offer a wide range of attractive and diverse activities, according to him.

His remarks came during a meeting he held Tuesday to review the status of the procedures for offering the management and operation of the "Fustat Hills Park" project. The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbini, Head of the Central Agency for Construction and Development Mahmoud Nassar, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund Khaled Siddiq, and Vice Chairmen of the Fund Baher el-Sharawi and Mostafa Abdel Wahab.

Madbouli stressed that given the numerous components and capabilities of the project, the company awarded the contract for managing and operating the park must have a high level of expertise and professionalism in handling such large-scale projects. This is essential to ensure the achievement of the project’s objectives, safeguard the investments made, and secure the sustainability of the park’s various components, he said.

During the meeting, Sherbini presented a detailed report on the ongoing work in the project as of this month. He outlined the progress and completion rates for each area, remaining tasks and scheduled deadlines.

The project currently includes the construction and landscaping of heritage gardens, terraced hills, an adventure zone, an investment area featuring a Roman theater, restaurants, shopping centers and administrative buildings; a market area with shops, restaurants, administrative and residential units; the river zone, excavation sites, a cultural area, the Qasaba zone with restaurants, cinemas, administrative and residential buildings; the valley and hills and public squares. It also involves the construction of a museum storage facility, various infrastructure works, and landscaping of the general site.

For his part, Siddiq presented the steps taken regarding the management and operation file of the Fustat Hills Park. He referred to several meetings and discussions that were held to explore different scenarios and proposals for the park's future operation. It was agreed to offer the entire project to a single investor before its completion.

He noted that the process included preparing tender documents, awarding the project’s management and operation contract, and publishing announcements in official newspapers inviting Egyptian and international companies and consortia to submit qualifications for managing, operating, and maintaining the park.

The meeting concluded by confirming that significant interest had already been expressed by several specialized companies, both local and international, since the announcement was published. The fund will be responsible for responding to inquiries from companies intending to apply in the upcoming tender. (MENA)
