CAIRO, May 12 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptians Expatriates Badr Abdelatty had two phone calls with his Omani and Iranian counterparts; Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Abbas Araghchi.
During the phone calls, Abdelatty discussed regional developments, in particular the fourth round of negotiations between the US and Iran concerning the Iranian nuclear file, which was hosted in Muscat on Sunday.
The Egyptian top diplomat was briefed on updates of the talks between the two sides.
He praised the commitment of both the US and Iranian sides to maintaining the diplomatic path. Abdelatyy also praised Oman's mediation efforts.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for initiatives aimed at reaching peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomatic channels.
The Foreign Minister expressed hope that these negotiations would lead to narrowing of gap and contribute to de-escalation, reduce tensions in the region and support regional security and stability.
Meanwhile, Abdelatty exchanged views with US President's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff regarding the US-Iran negotiations as well as developments in the Gaza Strip and Ukraine. (MENA)
