President Sisi announced in his address on the occasion, the ratification of Egypt’s new Labor Law, confirming that it represents a quantum leap in the course of labor rights. The law guarantees clear gains for workers, solidifies the concepts of protecting and fair treatment of workers, affirms the rights of female workers, enhances job security for employees, and aligns with international labor charters and agreements, according to him. It thus constitutes a fundamental step toward establishing a stable and balanced work environment that keeps pace with the aspirations of the new republic, he stated.

The president also directed the government to finalize the Domestic Labor Law, engage in a societal dialogue around it, expand social protection to irregular workers, provide funeral allowances, implement an initiative to develop the skills of young people through free grants to qualify them for the actual needs of the labor market, and work on speeding up the resolution of labor disputes to ensure workers receive their dues without delay. He also called for the formation of a permanent committee to follow up on the implementation of the National Employment Strategy as soon as it is launched.

He said that the Egyptian government continues to make efforts to provide a renewed work environment and continuously offers advanced training programs for workers, keeping up with global changes.

The government, he said, is also expanding in the establishment of technological universities and industrial and technical schools to prepare qualified cadres that meet the needs of the modern labor market. It seeks to sign agreements with different countries to open up opportunities for skilled Egyptian workers, providing decent work opportunities for them in Arab, African, and European countries, contributing to development in those countries, as part of the historical and pioneering role Egypt has always played with its brotherly and friendly nations, according to him.
