CAIRO, July 8 (MENA) - The House of Representatives, under Speaker Hanafy el-Gebaly finally approved a draft law on amending some provisions of Sports Law No. 71 of 2017.

The House passed the government-proposed draft law, with the aim of enhancing the role of sports as a tool for community development, through adopting a philosophy that guarantees the independence of sports entities in accordance with the Olympic Charter, while granting administrative bodies limited supervisory powers to ensure compliance with the law - without infringing upon the principle of sports independence.

The draft law also includes measures to strengthen integrity and transparency in the sports sector, through supporting doping combat and reforming the sports settlement and arbitration center to ensure impartiality and independence. (MENA)
