SEVILLE, Spain, June 30 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed on Monday that Egypt remains committed to supporting the Palestinian cause until the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are achieved through the establishment of an independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

During his meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, Madbouly highlighted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s efforts to reach a ceasefire and support Gaza’s reconstruction.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of Madbouly’s participation, on behalf of President Sisi, in the Fourth United Nations Conference on Financing for Development.

Madbouly inquired about the current situation in the Palestinian territories, particularly in the West Bank, underscoring Egypt’s backing of all efforts by various parties to uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

He also stressed the importance of resuming preparations for a comprehensive reconstruction conference for Gaza once a ceasefire is secured.

For his part, Mustafa expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s consistent stance and Sisi’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and Gaza’s reconstruction, noting that efforts to advance rebuilding continue despite recent developments that have delayed the implementation of reconstruction plans.

He also pointed to ongoing efforts by several countries to convene an international peace conference in New York, highlighting the Palestinian government’s outreach to various international actors to rally support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. (MENA)
