CAIRO, May 7 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli approved Egypt’s contribution to the 13th resource replenishment of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), securing the country’s continued role in the fund’s governance and project planning.

The approval came during the weekly cabinet meeting held Wednesday.

IFAD has worked with Egypt to finance 14 rural development projects valued at $1.1 billion, benefiting 1.3 million people. Egypt’s renewed contribution will support future programs focused on small farmers, food systems, and climate resilience.

This decision maintains Egypt’s voting rights within IFAD and strengthens its ability to shape funding priorities in agriculture and rural infrastructure. (MENA)
