ATHENS, May 7 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt is the main source of stability in the region as it effectively pursues a balanced policy, taking into account the substantial change in the turbulent world.
"Coordination between Egypt and Greece is in the interest of the whole region," President Sisi said during a session of talks with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas on Wednesday.
Egypt exerts great efforts to realize security and stability in the troubled region, achieve a ceasefire and allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, President Sisi said.
He reiterated Egypt's firm position rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
President Sisi further noted that his current visit to Greece reflected the strong ties between Cairo and Athens in all domains.
The visit is meant to coordinate stances on the issue of illegal immigration, said President Sisi, making it clear that Egypt has never been a "crossing point" for illegal immigration.
The visit is a favorable opportunity to strengthen ties with Greece, sign a strategic partnership agreement, and make a substantial progress in the two countries' ties, President Sisi added.
The visit is his fifth to Greece, a matter that reflects Egypt’s continued and serious commitment to develop partnership with Greece, he further noted.
This visit also demonstrated the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries, President Sisi said.
There are plenty of opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and agricultural areas, President Sisi said. (MORE)
