CAIRO, May 7 (MENA) - Egypt is deeply concerned about the current developments between India and Pakistan and the exchange of airstrikes that left a number of persons dead and injured.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs and Emigration Ministry on Wednesday, Egypt stressed the utmost importance of making all efforts to achieve calm and defuse the current crisis between the two countries to avoid further escalation.
Egypt also urged India and Pakistan to exercise the highest levels of restraint and engage in dialogue through diplomatic channels, read the statement.
It also underlined the highest importance of resorting to peaceful solutions to fulfill the aspirations and hopes of the two countries' peoples in restoring calm and stability, according to the statement. (MENA)
