CAIRO, May 3 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced the signing of Egypt’s new Labor Law during the Labor Day celebrations held in Suez on Saturday.
The law introduces updated protections for workers, guarantees fair treatment, supports women's employment rights, and aligns with international agreements. It aims to create a stable and fair work environment across sectors.
In his speech, President Sisi directed the government to finalize the domestic workers’ law, expand social protection for informal workers, provide support grants in cases of death, and reduce delays in labor dispute resolutions.
He also ordered free training programs to prepare youth for the job market and called for the formation of a permanent committee to implement the national employment strategy.
Sisi added that the government continues to develop modern work environments, expand vocational and technological education, and seek agreements with other countries to open opportunities for skilled Egyptian workers abroad.
Additionally, the president praised the role of workers in driving industrial growth and development, saying their contribution remains essential to Egypt’s progress.
